To make steady progress you will need to train twice a week. We begin each lesson with basic warm up and stretching exercises. The lessons  cover areas such basic strikes, blocks, kicks, self defence applications, kata, bag work and bunkai.

Progress is assessed by gradings when you are ready to take them. Don't worry, they are a good way of measuring and driving your progress, you will advance quickly in the early period of your training with longer periods between gradings as you advance.

The club follows clear guidelines as laid down by Dojo Etiquette designed to ensure a safe and rewarding training sessions.

The basic Shotokan moves and katas all have real applications, the physical  application of which is known as Bunkai. Many of the techniques are found in other martial art forms. Karate Jitsu brings together strikes, kicks, joint locks, throws and kyushio (pressure/nerve point) attacks.
